Innovation A three channel amplifier (A + B + Sub) designed for our very popular Ambience series of installation speakers, but also eminently suitable for any similar Sub/Satellite speaker system. A distillation of our experience gained through years of making compact, powerful amplifiers. Designed to be a straightforward, convenient way to supply all amplifier functions within the one unit, the AmbiDrive can easily handle any professional medium power applications. Smart Technology Inside A and B input connectors (XLR and jack, for added convenience) on the rear panel feed into an onboard plug-in Sub crossover card. This can be customised for non-ARX systems, but normally sums the signal below 100Hz in both channels and presents it at a separate Sub output connector. For a satellite speaker/sub woofer system, the AmbiDrive is all the amplifier you’ll ever need! What if you don't need a Sub? If you'd prefer to use the Sub channel for something else - monitors, for example - then simply plug into the Aux to Sub Channel connector on the rear, and all the power of the Sub channel is available to use as a full range output. We've done everything we can to make the AmbiDrive the most useful, flexible amplifier solution. Stable temperature Dual variable speed cooling fans circulate air through ARX’s proprietary ‘UltraFin™’ heatsink to stabilise the AmbiDrive temperature. When the amp is idling, so are the fans. AmbiDrive weight

Some amplifiers are just designed heavy, because it takes more time and effort and money to design them light! At ARX, we’ve invested in extensive R & D to solve the weight problem. The AmbiDrive weighs just 12 kilos (26 lbs) - light enough for a single person to carry and install. Using a high efficiency low mass toroidal transformer, coupled with advanced computer modelling techniques has enabled us to put the strength where it’s needed, and to reduce unnecessary weight where possible.

Speaker Protection

We’ve also done intensive research into amplifier protection, in order to design a system that really does work in the real world. Thus the AmbiDrive has relay switched protection circuits that instantly disconnect the speakers if a potentially damaging signal is detected. You’ll appreciate the fact that it’s a re-settable circuit, too, not a simple ‘one time only’ crowbar system that has to be stripped down to be replaced.
