Of course, not everybody needs the absolute power of the SX3000, so we've supplemented it with the SX1500

What about Protection?
We’ve done intensive research into amplifier protection, in order to design something that really does work, not something that should work! Both the SX series amplifiers have new relay switched protection circuits that instantly disconnect the speakers when a potentially damaging signal is detected.
You’ll appreciate the fact that it’s a re-settable circuit, too, not a simple ‘one time only’ crowbar system that has to be stripped down to be replaced.

New Anti Clip Circuitry
Our new switchable SoftClipTM circuit intelligently protects the amp from clipping. Unlike simple limiting which can cause harsh distortion of low frequency signals, the SoftClip circuit keeps the amplifier from hard clipping without destroying the sound quality, yet still retaining the dynamics of the music. Our new I/O comparator circuit has front panel LED displays for true Clipping indication, as well as Signal Present and Bridged mono mode status.

Split Supply
Both the SX1500 and the SX3000 use our SplitSupplyTM power supply protocol, enabling the drive circuitry to be run on a separate DC rail to the power circuitry.
The benefits of this layout are lower noise, greatly reduced IM distortion, and more output power. And isn't that what we all want?

It’s generally accepted that at the current state of the art in amplifier design, Power = Heat. The more power the amplifier puts out, the more heat it produces. To cope with all this, ARX has further refined its innovative UltraFinTM technology, which uses the same techniques as air conditioning heat exchangers to deliver an amplifier that runs cool even under the most arduous conditions. Four rows of fins per heatsink gives a surface area of 450,000 sq mm per channel.

No extrusion or casting known can even come close to its volumetric efficiency, and each SX amplifier has TWO of them!
This massive heatsink area is complemented by the use of 4 x high c.f.m variable speed DC fans.
In both models, the speed of these fans is temperature controlled, so that when the amp is idling, so are the fans. When the internal temperature rises, so does the fan speed.

Heavy? Not My ARX
Some amplifiers are just designed heavy, because it takes more time and effort and money to design them light! Well, here at ARX, we’ve taken the time and effort and spent the money!
The SX3000 comes in at 19 kilos (42 lbs) by the use of intelligent design. Advanced computer modelling techniques have enabled us to put the strength where it’s needed, and to reduce excess weight where possible.
