ZA amplifiers overview

The ARX ZA series amplifiers are designed around a common engineering platform to enable accurate assembly. During production, individual channel cards are slotted into a motherboard and heatsink assembly loaded with the appropriate components and power supply for the model chosen.

	On the left are ZA600 models. The ZA 5.1 surround sound model features a higher power Sub channel fed from a dedicated heavy duty power supply.
Air flows through the amplifier chassis from front to back via 2 high c.f.m DC controlled fans. The airflow is deliberately broken up by the toroidal transformer and power supply capacitors in the plenum chamber directly in front of the heatsink. This increases the pressure of the air mass and randomizes the swirl pattern, ensuring it flows evenly through the complete width of the heatsink.

Once through the heatsink, the air rapidly exits the chassis through the cooling slots in the rear and sides of the amplifier. On the ZA400, 600, and 800, each pair of channels can be bridged to create a higher powered single channel running into an 8 ohm load. Safety First The outputs are fully isolated Speakon connectors, in keeping with all current Worldwide approval requirements for amplifier output connections. There are no bare Input or Output terminals, or low cost ‘push terminals’ used on this Professional product.

Note that the amplifiers are shipped with the level controls set at full on (no attenuation). Care should be taken setting initial levels during system turn on!
