Amp It
Again
Application
Notes
The Amp It Again 2 is a transformer isolated line signal conditioning box. It can be used as an amplifier re-recording interface, for re-tracking with multiple or alternate amplifiers, or as a line impedance modifier for. accurate reproduction when plugging a wireless receiver into a guitar amp. Or keyboard, vocal, or whenever you need the signal to mimic the impedance and level of a guitar pickup into a guitar amp.
It saves the guitarist from having to endlessly repeat a track into different amplifiers. Just record it once, and then replay that track through the Amp It Again as many times as necessary into different amplifiers and effects until just the right combination is found.
There are many occasions in the studio when a guitar track may need to be replayed through a different amplifier.. The perfect take, perhaps, but recorded with the wrong sounding guitar amp. To replay the track through the right sounding amp, will require the Amp It Again 2, since a standard line level output from the hard disk recorder or multi track digital or analog tape deck is not a good match for the input of a guitar amplifier.
A guitar amplifier is designed to produce its sound from the relatively weak output of a guitar pickup. So its input circuitry, preamp design and other factors are set up to expect just that sort of signal.
For example, just think of how much boost and cut is built into the RIAA curve in order to produce an acceptable sound from the cartridge and stylus on a vinyl turntable, a device with magnets and wire that functions in a similar way to a guitar pickup. A line input from a hard disk recorder, tape recorder, wireless receiver is just not going to sound very good plugged into your Tuberiffic Plexi Reverb Deluxe for reworking your 'once in a lifetime' irreplaceable guitar solo track.
The Amp It Again 2 enables engineers to vary the impedance of the signal until it exactly matches the output impedance of typical guitar pickups, and so create the perfect signal match with the input of the amplifier .
Can't decide between amps? You can connect two different ones to the the Amp It Again 2, since its dual isolated outputs means it can be used with two different amplifiers at once!
The following diagram should give you a straightforward idea of how simple the Amp It Again 2 is to use:

The straight track from your computer or hard disk recorder is connected into the Input of the Amp It Again 2, and either one or two guitar amplifiers are connected to the Outputs. The audio ground can be lifted if necessary, and then the output impedance from our custom wound mu metal shielded transformer can be varied from 10Kohms to 100Kohms, bringing back the warmth, bite and clarity of the original input signal.
This very useful device is also perfect as an
interface for doing the same with the outputs of wireless systems,
effects boxes, keyboard synths, organs and more to match up guitar
and other instrument output impedances.
So plug it in, crank it up and Amp It Again, Sam (or George or whoever!)
