ARX UNIQUE SELLING POINTS

"THE THINGS THAT MAKE THE PRODUCTS BETTER!"

#2: Amplifiers

Our History

Over 16 years ago, ARX was one of the first companies in the world to bring out a high powered amplifier (the legendary SS700) in only 2 rack spaces! A concept that has been embraced by virtually every amp manufacturer since then.

Today, thousands of amplifiers later, we’ve had greater experience in getting more from less than just about anyone else!

Our Design Philosophy

Our philosophy is a simple one:

#1. Make amplifiers that first and foremost deliver superb, transparent sound quality.

#2. Make them as compact as possible without compromising reliability and ease of service.

#3. Make them light but strong. Some amplifiers are just designed heavy, because it's easy. It takes far more time and effort and money to design them light!

Well, here at ARX, we’ve never taken the easy option. We've put in the time and effort with advanced computer modelling techniques which have enabled us to put the strength where it’s needed, and to reduce excess weight where possible.

Real World Power

#4. Make them powerful. Less weight shouldn't mean less power. Every ARX amplifier's power is rated at the industry standard RMS rating.
That’s true continuous RMS power, not music power, peak power, instantaneous power, or any other unquantifiable esoteric standard that can make an amplifier appear to deliver something it doesn’t.

This true power output comes from state-of-the-art components - latest generation Mosfet output devices, and a low mass, high efficiency toroidal transformer based power supply. No marginally designed multi rail voltage wobblers here - when it comes to horsepower, there’s no substitute for cubic inches!

From 100 watts to 1,000 watts RMS, ARX amplifiers provide power to to drive any system, and power to deliver the low frequency impact that lesser amplifiers can only dream about.

ARX Heat Exchanger Technology

Each fold of ribbon is slotted as well, for maximum heat dispersing surface area

#5. Keep them cool. An ARX UltraFin heat exchanger looks very different to the heatsinks found in other amplifiers.

>450,000 sq mm!

Our proprietary heat exchanger technology delivers an amplifier that runs cool even under the most arduous conditions. Four rows of ribbon fins per heatsink gives a surface area of over 450,000 sq mm per channel. No extrusion or casting known to man can even come close to its volumetric efficiency.

At the same time it weighs less than 10% of an equivalent traditional extruded or cast aluminium heatsink!

Protection systems

#6. Make them smarter by building in more protection.
Every ARX amplifier has onboard protection systems to help it cope with less-than-perfect conditions.

  • A unique ‘Headroom Enhance’ circuit provides maximum output levels without clipping, so both the amplifier and the speakers live longer
  • Relay switched DC sensing, that instantly disconnect the speaker outputs if something unpleasant is detected
  • Input/Output muting at turn on/off, to avoid damaging thumps when the amplifier is switched on or off.
  • All sensitive components are carefully chosen for their high fault tolerance: our diode bridges, transformers, capacitors are all over-designed to handle excessive conditions

Our range of amplifiers are the result of our experience gained through years of making compact, powerful amplifiers. When you need an amplifier, you can be assured that an ARX amplifier will deliver all you'll ever need, to satisfy the most demanding professional applications.
