Using ZA Amplifiers
with 70 / 100V Output Transformers
|
The ZA series of
multi-channel power amplifiers are able to be easily
configured as high quality multi-zone Constant Voltage audio
systems. When using 70 or 100V Constant Voltage output transformers, we have found that the ZA Mosfet output stage biasing is much happier if the load path is decoupled for DC voltages with the inclusion of a large value Electrolytic Capacitor in series with the transformer primary. See following diagram for details:
We suggest using a 4700 uFD 80 VDC (minimum) with a .47 uFD 100 VDC (minimum) Polyester in parallel, which works well with no audible effect or degradation of specifications. Note that this modification is not required when using ARX ZAT units, which come with load decoupling capacitors already fitted. |
