All about AutoLink and the ZA amplifiers

The ZA 400, 600 and 800 amplifiers feature AutoLink(tm), an exclusive and unique internal patching system first seen on the ARX Multi Q parametric equalizer. It allows all channels to be linked as required, individually or in multiples.
What exactly does this mean? Here’s an example:

If you insert a lead into the Input of Channel 1, the signal will automatically be routed through Channels 2 to 8 as well, linking all 8 channels from a single source without having to link them manually (i.e. 1 signal to 8 zones).

One input automatically feeds to all outputs

However, if you insert another input lead from a different source into, say, Channel 3, then this new signal will run through Channels 3 to 8, leaving Channels 1 and 2 with your original signal.

Input 1 feeds Channels 1 and 2, Input 3 automatically feeds all other outputs

If you insert another input lead from another different source into, say, Channel 5, then this signal will run through Channels 5 to 8. And so on.
Naturally if you need a different signal in each amplifier channel then you can just plug into them normally on a 1 to 1 basis.

Individual inputs feed individual outputs

In this way the ZA 400, 600 and 800 amplifiers can be easily and quickly configured for single and multiple zones without the need for an external splitter/line distribution system.
The AutoLink feature does not appear on the ZA 5.1 surround amplifier, since it is by definition a dedicated special purpose unit designed to be driven with discrete channels from a surround decoder.
