Preamps
ARX's new
e-Pre
Microphone Preamp found a home at the Homebush Olympic
Centre. Two units were used with Notebook PC based
measurement systems for 'S.T.I' intelligibility testing and
documentation on all of the 34 venue Audio Systems provided
by Panasonic.
E-Pre's were chosen for their Battery Power
capabilities and their onboard 48V Phantom Power, required
for the condenser microphones used for taking the
measurements.
New
Product Specially Designed
In Mid 1999 we
were contacted by Panasonic Broadcast, who in conjunction
with SOBO, (Sydney Olympic Broadcast Organisation)
requested that we consider developing an Audio for Video
Switcher based on our Sixgate, (with which they were
already familiar)
After several months of development and testing by SOBO our
development program resulted in the new VCS-6 DC
controlled Audio Switcher/Gate.
Panasonic placed an order for 34 units, allowing them to
remotely control a total of 204 audio channels at the games
venues.
Splitting
Each of the 34 Games venues throughout Sydney had a 24
Output PA and Broadcast Audio Splitter system based
on 3 x MaxiSplits
distributing audio signals Worldwide.
In all, 106 units of MaxiSplit Line Splitter were
supplied by ARX to major Olympics supplier G.U.E.T. for this
purpose.
A total of 848
individual outputs!
Compressing
33
Quadcomp
4 channel Compressor Limiters kept the 2000 Games SPLs under
control by providing System Level control and protection in
almost all the Sydney venues.
