ARX SPLs gateway to the world of 5.1 Sound.
With origins dating back to the early 17th Century and almost 40,000 students the University of Hamburg is Germany's fifth largest University and prides itself as Germany's "Gateway to the world of Science".
As part of the Universities ongoing refurbishment program ARX's German Distributor ShowService GmbH has now completed the supply and installation of two new Audio Systems for the Universities "E.S.A B" and "A.S" Auditoriums.

The 5.1 Audio System in the cavernous "ESA B" Auditorium comprises 5 units of SPL 12 Self Powered Loudspeaker providing Left Centre Right and Stereo Surround program and 1 unit of SPL 18 Self Powered Sub Woofer for low frequency reinforcement. 1 unit of SPL 8H compact self powered loudspeaker was installed in the lecturers desk as a listen monitor / foldback monitor.
In the less vast "AS" Auditorium a smaller 5.1 System was installed comprising 5 units of SPL 8H compact self powered loudspeaker and 1 unit of SPL 18 Self Powered Sub Woofer for low frequency enhancement.

According to Showservice's Bertin Krompass "The University could only provide a very small installation window due to their busy academic schedule. With their minimal cabling requirements and flexible flying options the ARX SPL series were the ideal choice for the required fast installation turnaround. The SPL generated 5.1 soundfields have impressed all those involved, the new systems sound very warm and accurate".

Hamburg University now features two gateways to ARX's popular SPL range of Powered Loudspeaker Systems.
