The unit shall be mounted into a standard 1 RU all steel chassis with extruded aluminium front panel. It shall consist of two independent channels that enable a signal to be split to four separate outputs. There shall be a switch on the rear panel to change the unit to a single channel unit splitting a signal to eight separate outputs. The front panel shall have indicator LEDs to show which mode is active. Each channel shall have an electronically balanced 3 pin female XLR input connector, plus a 3 pin male XLR loop output. The balanced input shall have passive RF filtering to prevent RF breakthrough. Each of the outputs shall be a 3 pin electronically balanced male XLR connector, and shall have a corresponding output gain control on the front panel which shall provide up to +6dB of gain. All inputs and outputs shall be mounted on the rear panel. Input Impedance shall be 44K Ohms Balanced, and 22K Ohms Unbalanced. Input Headroom shall be +21dB and Maximum Output Level shall be +27dB. AC power range shall be switchable 100 to 120V or 220 to 240V AC, and shall be connected to the unit via a standard three pin IEC connector, with built-in fuse and voltage change switch.
