SS amplifiers continued

The SS700 was fairly rapidly followed by the SS700VC - the VC standing for Volume Control, a much requested addition. This featured a power LED as standard from the word go!

This particular one is used every day as the test mule for the Assembly Department. If it will put up with the giant doses of Neil Young it receives on a regular basis, then it will survive anything!

It is electronically identical to the earlier model, with the exception of the volume controls. It shares the same chassis, circuit boards and heatsinks. The only difference is the front panel.

Rear view of the Speaker Dept's SS700VC showing XLR and jack Inputs, and binding post and XLR outs. Although the external fans looked a bit industrial, they did provide valuable protection for the rear panel components.
